Bridges an African Journal of English Studies
Founded in 1988 by Professor Mamadou Kandji, Bridges aims at promoting the scientific productions of researchers from Africa, its diaspora and the world at large.
After the release of its 12th number, Women's Studies, Diasporas and Cultural Diversity, Bridges proposes a new number again dedicated to Women. The present issue, New Research Perspectives on Women's Studies, contains 10 insightful essays in English and French which examine Women as a « writing site » and bring to light the ways literary imagination captures their identity, status and predicament, to name but a few, within various social, cultural and traditional contexts across the world.
The increasing relevance of and great interest in Women's Studies, coupled with the variety of perspectives from which contributors study Women's respective conditions in their papers, are the main rationale for the dedication of this special number to a subject of paramount importance on a local as well as a global scale...
